I have very few memories from 2nd grade, but one of them that has stuck with me is sitting on the rug during reading time, doing our “round robin reading”. A girl named Scarlett was in my class & I remember the first time I heard her read. She was lightning-fast. I was still in my sounding-out every phase while she was just tearing through that story. I remember thinking “How in the world can she read that fast?! No fair!”. She could probably read faster in second grade than I can right now, Ha! If we were DIBELS tested back then, she would have blown them out of the water. Not kidding!
That was my first memory of Scarlett. Little did I know that very same girl would become one of my best friends, college roommate, bridesmaid, and more. (She still reads pretty fast, by the way). I’ll admit I got a little teary eyed watching her walk down the aisle to marry her groom, Zach. It was 7 years coming and I couldn’t be happier for the two! I was so honored to be a bridesmaid and to witness the day. It was absolutely beautiful! Thank you guys for having me!
About a month ago I had the privilege of taking her bridal portraits. Here are a few of my favorites:
